This method of sealing is practical when sealing with tape is impossible due to the different distance between the frame and the window frame, or the door from the terrace. For this project, you”ll need household cling film, duct tape, scissors or a scalpel, and acrylic silicone. The procedure is also simple and the results may surprise you. The first thing you have to do is to completely clean the window frame. Remove all dirt so that the silicone can adhere well. Then stick the foil on the window frame. You will do this by taping the tape in several places to the beginning of the foil while it is in the roll, and taping the other part of the tape to the beginning of the window (or door, depending on what you are doing). Then start unrolling the foil until you reach the edge of the stock, and cut it off with sharp scissors or a scalpel. Repeat the process along each section where caulking is required. You do this to protect that part from the silicone, and to prevent the window from sticking completely. Then take silicone and start applying silicone to the window frame. Squeeze out as much as you think will be enough. When you have finished the entire window, close it. Leave to dry for 24 hours. After that, just use a scalpel to remove the excess silicone that has leaked out. Your gasket is done.
