Why is it necessary to replace broken glass?

Glass on windows or glass doors are very vulnerable. A ball, a stone, a slightly larger shock due to wind or a draft, can easily break them or cause a small or large crack. It is not uncommon for someone to cut or injure themselves on broken glass. The damage is greater because the wind blows through the broken glass, rain and snow pass through, the place is also vulnerable to break-ins, and that is why it is necessary to replace the broken glass as soon as possible.

Should the replacement of broken glass be left to a professional?

Replacing broken glass is the job of specialized shops that have trained craftsmen and the necessary tools to do it. But if you have skillful hands, you can do it yourself. In addition to saving on the budget, you will not have to wait for the masters, who are sometimes very busy and cannot immediately answer your call. If it”s winter outside or a cold wind is blowing, waiting is the least you need.

Replacement of broken glass in PVC joinery

Replacement of broken glassReplacement of broken glass Modern PVC joinery is practical and special in many ways, including the ease with which glass can be changed. As for the windows, they are double vacuum. If the glass does happen to break, the easiest way to replace the broken glass is to contact the retailer where you purchased your PVC joinery. Some sellers, ie. manufacturers have special glasses that are easy to change because they are original for the given product. Any replacement of non-standard glass by a service that is not authorized for that brand is not always practical, but it does not mean that a good PVC carpentry service will not do it with top quality. As for the thickness of the glass itself, it can vary and it depends on what to look for during replacement.

Window glazing

The first thing in the process of sealing the window glass is to remove the old sealant from the window. This job can be easy, but it can also give you a lot of trouble. If the grout was applied more recently, meaning a period of 10 years or so, it will most likely still be somewhat elastic. Professionals have a special tool for this purpose, but you will also need a simple screwdriver or spatula. What can be a problem for you is an old git that has been sitting on the window for 20 or 30 years. It is very hard, does not allow to be removed in pieces and is very well glued to the glass and the wooden frame of the window. In some cases, a little heating of the git can help. Make a 10-millimeter-thick earthworm out of putty and lay it on a wooden frame. At the same time, press it between the glass and the wooden frame with your fingers, as shown in the picture. When you are ready, you can place the pieces of plaster with one hand and with the other hand, with the help of a putty knife, compact them into the space between the glass and the wooden frame. Be that as it may, the applied git must be more than necessary. You will remove the excess later.
