Connecting the electric stove

Is it necessary to call a master to connect an electric stove?

In addition to price and quality, there are many details that should be considered before buying an electric stove. What kind of stove would meet your needs? Where do you plan to place the stove, what are the appropriate dimensions, what functions should it support, what are the essential technical characteristics… When you have chosen the stove that suits you best, one more problem remains – connecting the electric stove. Although you may not have thought about it, this last step is not so simple. You will bring the stove into the apartment, and then, in order to put it into operation, you need to connect it. The seller usually provides a cable that is not connected to the stove. Should you connect it to single-phase or three-phase current? Where to hook which wire? In order for your stove to function properly for years to come, it is best to call a master electrician for this operation. He will connect the necessary installation, just as it is recommended and according to the safety rules
The electrical installations of the stove are very important and the instructions must be followed in particular. The connection on the back of the stove is especially important, because you absolutely must make sure that all cables have the correct connection and are properly connected. The cables in the oven have a standardized color coding so that it is difficult to make mistakes. This standardized color coding is very important and should be taken into account when connecting the electric stove. If the cable is connected incorrectly, the stove will probably not work properly or at all.

What preparations should you make before connecting the electric stove?

Preparations for connecting an electric stove are very important and protect you from injury or damage in the oven or in the kitchen. You need to turn off the three switches in the fuse box belonging to the stove. It”s mostly about the first three switches. However, if you are not sure, you should at best ask for the services of a handyman. It is also important to cover these switches with adhesive or insulating tape. In this way, you protect yourself from opening the circuit breaker again and reactivating the fuse. Failure to turn off the fuses may result in serious injury or damage to the stove and void the manufacturer”s warranty – due to improper installation.

What types of electric stove are there?

Stove with classic burners – traditional models present in households for many years. They have 4 hotplates – two small and two larger ones with diameters of 145 and 180 mm, while models with a width of 60cm can have one large hotplate with a diameter of 220mm. The main advantage of these stoves is lower repair and replacement costs in case of failure. On the other hand, hotplates are difficult to clean and maintain, and this is generally cited as the main disadvantage. A stove with a flat plate – a stove with a smooth surface on which the contours of the hotplates are marked. There are models in which these contours are drawn one inside the other, with the possibility of including a smaller or larger diameter heater, as well as an oval extension of the hotplate intended for preparing food in oval-shaped containers. Certain models have a heating zone that usually reaches a lower temperature and serves to keep the food warm until serving. This hot zone can also be located in the middle of the plate.
